Put on your Tinfoil Hats-- We have some Prepper nonsense coming at you

 I'm not Mr. Doom and Gloom, I'm not Mr. Paranoia. I wouldn't say I'm Mr. Don't-trust-your-neighbor, but I definitely would say I'm Mr. Be-prepared. I don't mind getting side-eyes or snickers, I mind starvation and no actionable response. So like with backpacking, like with film production, like with anything I do-- I. Am. Prepared. It is foolish to assume you will rise to the situation because the reality is, when the time comes for ANYTHING, you don't rise but you fall... to your level of preparation. I do RIDULOUS amounts of prep work on any project I am involved with and contingency is my best friend which is why I am typically not caught with my pants down. At the end of the day luck is only an intersection of opportunity and preparation-- not just blind chance from Life's RNG.

So I'm going to come out the gate here with an issue.......for some reason, actually who am I kidding I know the exact reason, the blog won't let me post this video of HOW TO MAKE A SUPER MAKESHIFT SHOTGUN out of some piping and like $15 of material for homedepot. I'm actually kind of diasppointed because between content seeking and the thumbnail for the video I can confidently say that the FBI will be monitoring this article, the blog and probably me (who am I kidding I'm probably already on several lists.....for the record none of them are epstein related...or diddy)

2. This Homemade and Improvised Weapon Could Save Your Life

I was genuinely surprised at this video. I'm all for self defense because it is empowering and I am even more in support of improvised weapons, because it is easy to be caught with your pants down. This video is from an ex CIA agent and he spits hot fire on how to make an incredibly crewd, cheap and effective DEADLY weapon......and it's two things: Rope/String and a Nut. That's it. I mean you can technically read this description and have enough of a takeaway to avoid watching the video but it is less than like 3 minutes I think and there is good advice in there and good advice for always legally having these two things on yourself (even in an airport if done right.....so this is one of the VERY FEW things you could make a self defense weapon out of once passed the TSA checkpoint). Obviously use this information responsibly, don't be a *expletive deleted*

3. My Altoids Urban EDC Tin Upgrade 2023 | 10 Years Later

Let start by saying I LOVE THIS VIDEO and I love this EDC kit. IT is sleek, well thought out, practical, and I just love it. The altoids tin is the cherry on top for me personally but through and through I highly highly HIGHLY recommend watching this video. I literally copied this idea (well mostly) after discovering this last year. I'm so glad I am doing this article because I always wondered when I was going to be able to shoehorn this video in.....TODAY IS THE DAY.

Pretty self explanatory. I'll be honest I don't exactly know what else to say that the title didn't say already. Rain barrels + proper engineering = free rainwater system that actually has water pressure.

5. Alternative Communication: Move over phones (ya punk Biznatches)

I love giving the middle finger to monopolies, authority, and the government.....well these little guys do all three simultaneously and I'm in blatant support of it. I'm not Mr. Techsaavy, I know a lot but not everything and especially less than that when it comes to telecommunications but in this video (part 1 of 3) it goes into an overview of these handy little devices that can be utilized as alternate communication. I think they're somewhere in between phones and radios but they definitely utilize what looks like some sort of miniboard to build a DIY phone. I'm super interested in this personally and when I have some more fun money at my disposal this will be a future project I pursue. The video has links for making one as well if you're interested

6. The First $1000 You should spend as a prepper

This video is straightforward and I saved it last for two reasons: 

1. It doesn't distract you from the other videos and

2. If you're new to this, interested or becoming interested then this is a good starting point.

I got into prepping originally for a few different reasons. The first one was in highs chool it was fun to joke about surviving a zombie apocalypse which WALKING DEAD shows us quickly turns into surviving OTHER PEOPLE in a zombie apocalypse <------this led me into researching 'bugging out'

 Another reason is that our grid is getting more and more out of date, more and more ineffective, and more and more underwhelming when it comes to meeting modern energy demands...... Which translates to: DTE sucks and if you don't like wasting food or surviving several days without water or electricity, then you had better have a plan in place <------this led me into researching 'bugging in'

Last but not least I'd have to say backpacking also led me here.... Between loving the outdoors, and sharing my love of the outdoors with my family, I have acquired several items over the years when I upgrade or switch out my backpacking supplies. Inadvertently I have almost fully stocked 3 backpacks with basic gear (albeit hand me down for the most part). This has led me into making prep/bugout bags for a SHTF scenario (Schtick Hits the Fan). But whe I came across this I definitely payed attention and in the end I like what advice it had to offer. So her we are...here it is....and now here you go!
