It's December! My Daughter is 2, The world hasn't blown itself up, Elections are OVER and I'm decking the halls.......Here's something terrifying #YuleCat

I'm not going to give you much context to this, just enough to get you on the hook. LOL killer cats and Christmas traditions WTF? How are they related? What is going on? Why do you need new clothes? Hahahahahahaha Continue reading for the YULE CAT

It's one of my favorite Yule/Xmas/'WhatevertheF%&kmas you wanna call it' traditions...the tradition of terrifying children to keep them in line lol. In Icelandic folklore the 'Yule Cat' would eat children who didn't get new clothes before Christmas Eve. No wonder people don't trust authority, doing shady crap like this for countless generations all to trick people into thinking clothes were good as X-mas gifts! It's a conspiracy I tell ya!!!!! CONSPIRACY
J/K, but it IS hilarious nonetheless. hahahahaha.....

This totally came out of nowhere too, I had totally forgotten about this folk tale until I saw an article talking about it. Thank god for the internet man, it let's my steady-state brain stay sharp while maintaining a loose yet reminding recollection. AND, and...... I got some little tidbits from that article I didnt know, such as:

There is a beloved poem about the Yule Cat by Johannes ur Kotlum which describes the huge cat’s sharp teeth and glaring yellow eyes along with the belief that one must work hard for Christmas to avoid being punished by the Yule Cat. Here’s the whole poem:

You all know the Yule Cat
And that Cat was huge indeed.
People didn’t know where he came from
Or where he went.

He opened his glaring eyes wide,
The two of them glowing bright.
It took a really brave man
To look straight into them.
