MEME Round Up: The Jan. edition!

The random questions plaguing humanity

  • 2 QUESTIONS : Why is it that when Jedi die that some don't vanish like Yoda or the light come out of them at the time of death like in The Force Unleashed? And also why would any Jedi just leave the body of there fallen? I could never get that I for one would never do that. What are your thoughts on this my Geek Family?

  • Noah Parker While most Jedi would lose their bodily envelope and become one with the totality of the Force upon their death, some had learned a technique allowing them to retain their own identities separate from the Force for a time. Those individuals could linger in the physical world in the form of "Force Spirits," nonphysical entities that exhibited most traits and abilities they had in life. According to the knowledge contained in Asli Krimsan's holocron, that feat could be achieved by sublimating one's organic cells into a state of pure energy.
In its "normal" state, a Force Spirit could only interact with other noncorporeal entities. In order to be heard or seen by the living, the Spirit had to manifest itself. There were different types of manifestation. On a basic level, a Force ghost could appear as a floating, milky gray mass of energy that lacked distinctive features. But it could also manifest itself as the exact image of the dead being during their lifetime, only transparent and emitting a bluish glow. While it could appear to anyone it wished, a spirit could not choose to become audible or visible to only some beings and not the others, since the ability to perceive the manifestation depended on the beholder's strength in the Force. While many Force ghosts could appear as a vision of their former selves unmarked by injury or disease, others still bore the marks of what killed them. The ghost of Aidan Bok wore tattered robes and had gaping wounds in its body, the marks left by a lightsaber. Sometimes, a particular Force ghost would bind itself to a Force-sensitive as a guardian spirit for the purpose of providing wisdom, continuing training, and offering aid.

  • Jerry Nathan Kean It's simple.

Jedi masters that have been deeply in touch with the force for a longer amount of time have the long-learned ability to directly transcend. This is why Yoda, over 800 years old, and Obi-Wan, over 70 (who had also spent many lonesome year
s meditating on Tatooine), were able to directly fade into the force as opposed to other, younger Jedi such as Shaak Ti or Qui Gon, both no older than 40. As for vader, I can only reason that it was because he had practiced the Dark Side for so long that his strong willed body was unable to completely transfer into the light side of the force upon his death.

I have thought about this a lot and I can only reason that force transcendence in death is related to preparation, force sensitivity, and the length of time an individual has spent deeply meditating with the force.

STAR WARS MEME round-up!!!!!!!!! cause there is just toooo many awesome/clever/great ones

WAYYYYYY more little tidbits of cute if you decide to continue reading......

That's no moon...... ITS SOMETHING FROM STAR WARS! (I'm betting the Millenium Falcon is there)

(wikipedia's entry for the 'Baltic Sea Anomaly')

UFO at the bottom of the Baltic Sea cuts off electrical equipment when divers get within 200m

The divers exploring a ‘UFO-shaped’ object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea say their equipment stops working when they approach within 200 meters of the object.
Professional diver Stefan Hogerborn, part of the Ocean X team which is exploring the anomaly, said some of the teams’ cameras and satellite phones would refuse to work when directly above the object, and would only work once they had sailed away. He is quoted as saying:
“Anything electric out there, and the satellite phone as well, stopped working when we were above the object. And then when we got away about 200 meters, it turned on again, and when we got back over the object it didn’t work.”
Hefty trajectory: The Swedish diving team noted a 985-foot flattened out ‘runway’ leading up to the object, implying that it skidded along the path before stopping but no true answers to this are clear.Diver Peter Lindberg said: “We have experienced things that I really couldn’t explain and I have been the team’s biggest skeptic regarding these different kind of theories.”He continues..
“I was kind of prepared just to find a stone or cliff or outcrop or pile of mud but it was nothing like that, so for me it has been a missing experience I must say.”Member Dennis Ã…sberg said: “I am one hundred percent convinced and confident that we have found something that is very, very, very unique.”“Is it a meteorite or an asteroid? Or a volcano? Or a base from say, a U-boat from the Cold War which has manufactured and placed there? Or if it is a UFO?Well, honestly, it has to be something.”

I'm willing to bet that it's the Millenium Falcon.......Afteral there is an Indiana Jones comic where Chewey and Han accidently crash into Earth in the 1800's (time is relitive....remember it isn't the year 2,000 according to the universe.......for like 14.something billion and uh.....15) and after Han is killed by native Americans chewey is stranded and roams the the planes being dubbed sasquatch.... HOW BADD ASS RIGHT!? it is just a story but still. That is soooo cool

Here's the Wikia for the comic should you ever wanna read it  It is titled "Into the great unknown"

The artist behind some of our favorite classic movie posters we all kniow/saw/loved as kids (including, but not limited to: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Hellboy, Big trouble in little china, hook and many many more) has come out of retirement to create one original poster for a documentary while also simultaneously melting our hearts. It follow 5-year-old leukemia survivor Miles Scott, aka Batkid during his Makeawish endeavors.
