Say what you want about how 'woke' marvel is, and have your opinions on skipping Bucky and going straight to Sam......please. No, seriously, please do-- You can have different opinions about how Cap is being handled and by all means take that discussion to the comments (as long as you're respectful about differences of opinion), I want to know what you think on this topic. "The review embargo for Marvel‘s Captain America 4, also known as Captain America: Brave New World, has now lifted. At the time of this article’s publication, the film has a 48 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes with 66 reviews and a 45 score on Metacritic." -Source: SuperHeroHype.com
It's no secret Sam's run as Captain America post endgame has been kinda terrible, or maybe terribly handled to be more specific but Cap IS HERE. I don't know why Marvel didn't just skip a week and thought that couples really needed a CAPTAIN AMERICA film in their Valentine's Day but here we are. Between rewrites, MASSIVE reshoots, and reshoots and reshoots, as well as marvel pivoting directions at least twice since this film entered production-- This movie is up against alot. We never got to see it, but Sam's first bigbad was COVID-19 and that foe struck a deep blow to the man handed the mantle, causing massive rewrites and delays to Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Next we had title changes and reshoots (as mentioned there were ALOT, like half a movies worth supposedly) then a plot leak, I mean this movie just can't win when it comes to marketing. Now critics are divided and expectations low.

Marvel obviously is losing faith in this film......there's a new FINAL TRAILER every week it seems. Is there in-fighting? lazy writers? Bad leadership? Bad casting (to be clear Anthony Mackie has RANGE, and I don't think he is in anyway at fault)? Is it a culmination of everything? I don't know but I don't have a good feeling about this flick. CAP is my favorite and even I'm just at a 'meh' about this release. For the first time in the history of the MCU I might just wait for it to come to disney+ (Ok...I lied, I never saw Black Widow in theaters either. To be fair though, basically nobody did) and that saddens me. I remember getting amped for the next marvel project like it's christmas, heck, I was even hyped for SECRET INVASION before they kill MH and botched the sh*t out of that story.
Ultimately it doesn't matter what the mobs or the press say. It doesn't matter what the critics or even the fans say, it doesn't matter if everybody decided that a good movie was a bad movie or vice versa. America was founded on one principal over all though, that you think for yourself. So when the world's pushing at you, when the crowds are telling you what to like and dislike, your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth say simply say "I CAN THINK FOR MYSELF"
(ok I tried really hard to paraphrase my favorite cap quote and it kinda worked.....but it is also very corny....also I don't care, I love it)
Seriously though I want to be excited for this film and it has plenty of things going for it:
-Red Hulk/ Harrison Ford
-Gus from breaking bad
-Elaine from Seinfeld
-Captain America (I love me some Cap)
But will it be enough to give it the push that STEVE ROGERS had? We shall see
