Here's the Low-down: Darth Maul series announced at SW celebration in TOKYO

 Star Wars Celebration was definitely not disappointing this year (to be fair it usually isn't)

Celebration has come and gone (Thanks Tokyo.....sounds like you were lovely) and we already talked about STARFIGHTER but now is time to talk about another BANGER in the works-- A Darth Maul Disney+ animated series.  (woohoo!)

I'm glad Darth Maul has been getting the respect he deserves finally, I mean technically he has been over the last several years but I'm glad his legacy ended being more than just a foreboding presence in EPISODE 1 who became a great toy but a throwaway villain (to be fair every prequel movie's main antagonist/lackey of SHEEV was a throwaway villain.... Ep1 had Maul, Ep2 had Dooku, Ep3. had Grievous). Clone Wars, Rebels and the bad batch or his tease in SOLO and now.... this series have all done an excellent job of fleshing him out into being one of the more interesting aspects of the larger story as a whole. It's even sad when he dies fighting OBI-WAN, well tragic at least,,,

I'm curious to see where they will take him with this show, but since it was just announced there isn't MUCH available about this project as of this moment. I'll give you the 411 on what I KNOW so far. 

Here's what we know:

-Coming 2026! (Mark those calendars)

-Sam Witwer is back voicing DARTH MAUL!!!!! 

-Disney is ACTUALLY using some of George Lucas' unused ideas about Darth Maul to flesh out his story

-Time Frame of the series: Between The CLone Wars and Star Wars rebels.

-Darth Talon is becoming CANON and could be Maul's apprentice

-Crimson Dawn and Kira could have a stake in things
