TODAY BATKID went live: Humanity still has a shred of dignity left

so today was the day. Today was the day a little Boy had a day farrrr better than a good majority of our days combined.....he got to  be BATMAN and he got to save San Fransisco (turned into a makeshift Gotham)

This is 5 year-old Miles, and he is bravely battling leukemia. So Make-A-Wish decided to make this kids day.... in the most awe-inspiring heart-melting way-- He gets to SAVE people and become Batkid

I originally read about this wonderful event through an article posted weeks back on GEEKOLOGIE'S MAIN PAGE (<---the article was there in case you missed that one)

Continue reading on for more information and the livestream link (if case you'd like to view it in process)
----> THE EVENT IS BEING LIVE STREAMED TODAY! <----

The day starts with a breaking news story. San Francisco's Police Chief asks if anyone knows the whereabouts of Batkid because he needs his help solving crime and bringing the bad guys to justice. Our little Batkid, Miles, in training with adult Batman, is ready to answer the call! Of course Batkid will be riding around the City, saving the day and performing feats of derring-do!

After rescuing a damsel in distress from the Hyde St. cable car tracks in Nob Hill, and capturing the Puzzler in the act of robbing a downtown vault, Batkid will eat his lunch at the Burger Bar in San Francisco - directly above Union Square. While at Burger Bar, he will get a special message from the Chief of Police to go to the window - where he will look down and see a huge group of volunteers jumping up and down asking for Batkid's help. Why?
Because the villainous Mr. P. will be kidnapping a famous San Francisco mascot! The getaway car will be visible on Union Square (a convertible so that everyone can see what is happening), and the chase will be on!
After catching Mr. P., Batkid will make his final stop at City Hall, where the Mayor and the Police Chief of San Francisco will thank him and give him the key to the city.

IGN also had an article....

Here's a snip-et of what they had to say!

On November 15th the Make-A-Wish Foundation will turn an adorable five-year-old named Miles into Batman. Miles is fighting leukemia and, in addition to giving the kid a costume, a Batmobile, a sidekick, TWO supervillains, and an official call for help from the freakin’ police chief, the event will feature a cast of thousands.
Miles' Batman will "battle" both Riddler and Penguin, the latter of whom will be "kidnapping a famous Gotham City mascot." There will be a "car chase," a damsel in distress, all the requisite elements of a Batman adventure.
"The [Penguin's] getaway car will be visible on Union Square (a convertible so that everyone can see what is happening), and the chase will be on!," according to SFGate.com. "After catching the Penguin, Batman will make his final stop at City Hall, where the Mayor and the Police Chief of Gotham City will thank him and give him the key to the city."
So instead of a city getting the hero it needs, a little hero is getting the city he deserves. Excuse me for a moment. I think I’ve got something in my eye.
