8 more to go, then its 100 posts: $5 DIY Iphone projector!

That's right kids, it is the ultra low-budget, ghetto-fabulous DIY project of the week! (and I cannot stress enough that I'm not being sarcastic) so grab your duct tape and wire and get ready for this gem.

For just about $5 you can make this and try it out for yourself (and worst case scenerio: it completely sucks and you're only out $5)

Basically, alls your need is duct tape, a shoe box and a magnifying glass of sorts

AWESOME science project bra: Auto-Gauss Gun project

"I just completed my latest project after almost three years of work. It's a home made, portable coilgun that fires in semi-auto and full-auto modes. It fires 7.7 rounds per second, and the steel projectiles are powerful enough to break glass jars and crack apart a laptop screen (about 138 fps, and 11 joules of muzzle energy)."

GEEKOLOGIE had this article up and I COULDN'T HELP BUT SHARE IT (KINDA)
if you continue reading you can see this shit in action!
I would also like to add that the U.S. Gov't could learn a thing or two from this (when in reality I'm sure this particular model is EXTREMELY ineffective for their purposes)

How To Make A DIY Anti-Surveillance Spray: For the hooligan--I mean patriot, in us all.

Are you feeling intimidated by big brother? Have you ever wanted to tell 'The Man' to F$%k himself? Do you like to do things that are malicious and illegal? Well if you said yes to the latter two of those three things then this project might not be for you. (I bet you thought I was going in another direction there for a second....well no anarcho stuff here.....yet) Freedom and Responsibility go hand and hand so if you want to be able to obtain this knowledge you need to know when it is applicable. IE: Don't be a destructive, self gratifying douche with this know-how, put it to good use when Uncle Sam tries to prop a camera on every corner!

If this sounds like something you might be interested in read on....

COOL!: D-I-Y Sock teddy bears

First off I love stumbling, second off I love wayyyyyyy too many things to begin to list them now. 3rd off, I will say that I love DIY (Do it yourself incase you don't know) projects. so naturally when I stumble across things that involve cool little projects with everyday items I get excited (if you goto my BLOG at the 18734.webs.com), such as the moss graffiti  or this cool site. but I digress-

Today I came across the sock monkey! so if this sounds like something up your alley give it a try!

Sidenote: Going to utilize this for our Polite Aschole skits involving our monkey (don't ask don't tell)

What's a blog without a post about building a tesla coil?: How-to build a tesla coil

source (instructables.com)

That's right kids! Grab some wires and glass bottles (which work SURPRISINGLY WELL FOR CAPACITANCE) and get ready to deal with deal amounts of AMPs.

Disclaimer: I just want to put it out there that unless you take the proper precautions and also keep in mind respect for electricity (as well as a decent background knowledge of electronics and electricity in general) you can get SERIOUSLY fucked up. You're typical wall socket can't kill you (for the most part) but this kicks up the VOLTS and AMPS to dangerous level. Also don't bring electrical equpiment around this, it'll short it out and you don't want to ruin that new I-phone. Also wear rubber insulated gloves.

This is a pretty helpful website for building a TESLA COIL. Which is a nifty project and a wonderful learning experience. I did one about 2 years ago

with a transformer off of ebay and the rest was with things found and made around the house. The spark gap was composed of 2 screws on wood. It was neat, I got shocked (mine was very weak though so you could shock yo-self allll day and it felt like pins n needles. ), I lit things wirelessly. Overall it was just an awesome time. Although I would recommend looking up the equations for fine tuning YOUR personal coil, that way it is more accurate and you get the most bang out of your buck without wasting electricity or damaging anything.

Be SAfe
BE smart
be A mad Scientist

sidenote: At one point Nikola Tesla proposed inserting huge tesla towers along highway to permanently power cars for free (but our capitalist way of thinking and the greedy fucks pulling the industrial strings shot that idea down)while on the highway and since these things were for maximizing electricity they would've been tuned in such a way to were no sparks are emitted (the spark arcs are a reaction of built of electricity being charged and speratically released.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR A READ ABOUT NIKOLA TESLA. It is whimsical and wild and innovative. He was brilliant and deserves your praise and respect because you use his shit all day and history has made sure you won't know it unless you look for it (Fuck you Edison BTW)

Crazy paper thing

This may look dumb but despite initial reaction it is actually a profound thinking tool. It shows how perception can be a lie and how things work. For an engineer it is a little play thing, but just the other day I was playing with one and had a profound thought involving gyroscopes and their application in propulsion. Random side note- YES helpful- YES cool-YES easy to make-YUP
give it a try.
