I agreee with this... mostly: 9 Movies That Made More Sense if You Followed the Viral Marketing

I just stumbled across an interesting article at IO9.com about a list on 9 movies whose viral-marketing campaign flesh out the stories (in some cases...better than the main narrative itself: the movie). For those who don't know what Viral-Marketing is I'll attach a brief description (according to wikipedia.org):

marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networking services and other technologies to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of viruses or computer viruses (cf. Internet memes and memetics). It can be delivered by word of mouth or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet and mobile networks.[1] Viral marketing may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergamesebooksbrandable softwareimagestext messagesemail messages, or web pages. The most commonly utilized transmission vehicles for viral messages include: pass-along based, incentive based, trendy based, and undercover based. However, the creative nature of viral marketing enables an "endless amount of potential forms and vehicles the messages can utilize for transmission", including mobile devices.[2]

I found the bit on After Earth quite amusing (especially because I dislike M. Night Shylamonading-ding and love bashing his 'work'), so much so that I used its clip-art for the blog post. BOOM BABY!

In case you don't want to read the actual article itself I'll spill the beans and list the movies in order of their appearance in this article:

1. The Blair Witch Project
2. Cloverfield
3. After Earth
4. The Amazing Spider-man 2 (Coming out 2014)
5. District 9
6. Elysium
7. Pacific Rim
8. Super 8
9. Prometheus
10. Your Mom *just kidding this list only goes to 9....nein nein nein nein nein nein
