Chelsea Handler spoofed an iconic photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin posing shirtless on top of a horse by Instagramming a picture of herself topless on a horse along with the caption: "Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to prove I have a better body than Putin."Instagram did take the photo down, as per their guidelines, prompting this response from Handler: "If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it's ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?"
How is she 'right'? I get the equality issue but the situation basically boils down to this: If you came over to my house you follow my rules. You have rights as a person and in the public domain and to an extent in my house, however.....you follow the rules. UNLESS you own stock in instagram you are using THEIR services for YOUR needs, therefore...follow their rules (the worst part is I agree with both sides.....she DOES have a right to believe that.....Although if she feels that strongly, she CAN post them on google images if she wants the world to see..... Ive seen PLENTY of naked photos there.
"We removed your post because it doesn't follow our Community Guidelines," Instagram posted to Chelsea's page. "Please read our Community Guidelines to learn what kinds of posts are allowed and how you can help keep Instagram safe."
Handler once again posted the pic, writing, "If Instagram takes this down again, you're saying Vladimir Putin has more 1st amendment rights than me. Talk to your bosses."
It irks me that people confuse personal rights with public rights..... EVEN if nudity is natural you can expect the world to believe what you believe......otherwise you're no different from an extremist group like the West Borro Baptists
Some people really dont get the 'my rights start where yours stop' thing.
