The Rundown......mostly Star Wars

Hello everybody! Hectic, hectic, hectic. So much going on. Between wedding planning, friends having babies, friends having bachelor parties, friends getting married, money stresses and allllllllllllll the fun and frustratingly beautiful and hectic things life throws at you, I have been absent.... but I seek to rectify this with some fun and exciting articles on the chopping block.

So let me start-off first by saying this:

THE NEW STAR WARS TRAILER IS THEEEEEE SHIT!

I'm not going to even hide it....WATCH IT! If you want a further scoop on some things that I've come across continue reading, because this trailer has left plenty up to speculation......

Gosh I'm all giddy........If it was up to me I'd just post pictures and gifs to communicate a visual narrative and let you heart (and inner child) fill the gaps with pieces of Star Wars nostalgia. But I gotta have some sort of writing here....I mean shoot.

Something to consider when deciding to take a pill for everything.

You know.... life is complicated..... things happen and they change you. Sometimes you think things and are so convicted to pursuing those things you can lose sight of what is important. Until something shocks you and you see past the blinders that have been put around you.

I just read such an article and it is saddening and informative all at the same time. You know it is always sad that innocent people have to die for us, as a society, as ourselves, as a whole or as a whatever...... but sometimes we don't see until it is too late. It its thru tragedy sometimes that we learn 'key' lessons.

Meet. Gwen Olsen, former Pharmaceutical extraordinaire.

after fifteen years of being in the drug pushing business. In her powerful book, Confessions of an Rx Drug Pusher, Gwen Olsen explains why she left her lucrative career selling drugs for some of the biggest names in the business – Johnson and Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Abbott Laboratories. Now she passionately advocates against the pharmaceutical industry, their unethical practices, and the hundreds of thousands of lives they lead to the grave. Gwen’s eyes were opened through a gradual course of tragic events

It was only after her niece set herself on fire that she was shocked into a state of awareness...

This isn't NEW new but it is still noteworthy.... ENJOY (just so we can start things off)

(more please)

Hate Hate Hate: Sipping on the Hugh Grant haterade

(Which is which?)
I despise Hugh Grant...... Well really I don't. To be fair, actually, I have never met or interacted with the guy. To be honest I have nothing against him PER SE but man I really, really, really strongly oppose him as an actor. I'll admit it, it is definitely 100% irrational. Like I said, he could he a stand-up guy, but I don't care.........I dislike his persona and the characters he portrays on the silver-screen. I dislike his acting abilities or skills if you can call them that. I hate the movie 9 months......
I love how Family Guy makes fun of him......
That being said......
We now have a theme for This article!
More on that story as it develops.....

Urumi: The sword not the Sailor Scout

How effective do you think a whip is in old-school combat?
It has speed, it has power, it def has momentum. Think about it though....

How effective is a spear?
It has distance and precision.
It is swift and tense.

NOW.....COMBINE the TWO! and you have an URUMI..... A whip-sword thing....
OBSERVE (actually....continue reading first..... then OBSERVE)

WARNING: NEVER............ (in a Chris Jericho voice).EVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVER
try this at home. Or at school. Or at work. Or in Prison. Pretty much, never try this anywhere, ever, unless you're well trained and experienced in sword-fighting

Seen here sporting virtually NO armor (except their bucklers) we have two EXTREMELY brave (or stupid....or more rationally.....two very WELL-TRAINED pros) gents lashing and hashing it out (or just bad-assily performing a demonstration.... IDK) it a super dangerous yet super Tapemeasuresque battle!
Hopefully nobody lands a hit, tape measurers hurt.....imagine something DESIGNED TO EFF YOU UP

QUICK LIL HISTORY LESSON:

"The urumi (Malayalam: ഉറുà´®ി urumi; Tamil: சுà®°ுள் பட்டாக்கத்தி surul pattai, lit. curling blade; Sinhalese: එතුණු කඩුà·€ ethunu kaduwa; Hindi: aara) is a sword with a flexible whip-like blade from India. Originating in the country's southern states, it is thought to have existed as far back as the Maurya dynasty. The urumi is considered one of the most difficult weapons to master due to the risk of injuring oneself. It is treated as a steel whip,[1] and therefore requires prior knowledge of that weapon. For this reason, the urumi is always taught last in the Indian martial arts. The word urumi is of north Keralan origin. In the state's southern region it is more commonly called a chuttuval, from the words for coiling or spinning (chuttu) and sword (vaal).[1] Alternative Tamil names for the weapon are surul val (curling sword) and surul katti (curling knife)." -Wikipedia

So now that you're up to speed....... EVERYTHING IS EXPECTED TO BE 'ALL GOOD' as they say......  Since the time for concern has passed the internet has been hard as work with the memes though...... so you know what that MEMES (get it....like MEANS but with-- nevermind)

Bring your tin foil hat! Mind control as a possibility (borderlining conspiracy)

First off.... Tin foil hats on!

Now I just want to start off my saying this: DON'T TAKE THIS AS DOGMA. Just use this possibility as a tool to think about things. After all-- The brain is the most powerful and sophisticated machine in the universe.....
This is also my 300th article so why not go out there and lose what little credibility I had by delving into borderline pseudo-science (even tough MKULTRA is real and people don't just give up on the possibility of mind control)

The exact contrary of what is generally believed is often the truth. - Jean de La Bruyere (1645-1696)

Star Wars physics: Michio Kaku discusses the possibilities of building a lightsaber

This is pretty self-explanatory.

Can you build a real lightsaber? Well....NO. I mean not at least by today's standards.... IN THEORY tho, anything is possible. Watch this Michio Kaku video, it is delightful. :-)
In it he explores the realistic obstacles facing the modern-day construction for a weapon of elegance (I don't know about the 'civilized time' part though....) such as this. The end product is a drastically visual difference to what you'd expect but it fits the bill as far as form and function go.

Since this article seems to be lacking in the substance department I think I will add another video the mix along the same lines.....

and for comedic effect.....can't forget tha haters.

3. Breaking GoT news: 'the Mountain' is the strongest Viking in 1,000 years......IRL..for real

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, best known for playing Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in HBO's Game of Thrones adaptation, just broke a 1,000-year old Viking strength record by carrying a 640 kg (~1410 pound) log across his back for five steps. According to Viking legend, the previous record holder was Ormur Stórólfsson, who managed to carry the log (which was actually the mast of a Viking ship) for three steps before breaking his back and being forced to quit. via Geekologie via the parent article

I did a two day search over this article, probably about 4 hours total, and I couldn't find anything debunking this...... and that is alarming..... normally you see something like this and it is blow out up context or just fearmongering but as far as I can tell......not this time. spread the word. shareholders and CEOs dont want your independence.

9. I may have already posted this, but just in case......'The Mushroom/LSD Experience Explained & Explored'
"Anyone that has tried a psychedelic drug know that it’s impossible to fully explain the experience to someone who hasn’t tried one. The entertainment industry completelymisrepresents these experiences with dragons flying out of people’s faces and walls melting into nothing, which never occur even with strong doses. So, here is my best attempt at explaining the psychedelic experience."
