Random yet heartfelt

I just came across this story on facebook. It is incredible and awe-inspiring. About love and loss and how even the mortal plane cannot separate soul-mates. I wanted to share it with the world:

Grab the Kleenex!

The night before the burial of her husband 2nd Lt. James Cathey of the United States Marine Corps, killed in Iraq, Katherine Cathey refused to leave the casket, asking to sleep next to his body for the last time. The Marines made a bed for her, tucking in the sheets below the flag. Before she fell asleep, she opened her laptop computer and played songs that reminded her of "Cat", and one of the Marines asked if she wanted them to continue standing watch as she slept.
"I think it would be kind of nice if you kept doing it" she said.
"I think that's what he would have wanted".

-Not sure what is more honorable: Being married to this faithful wife to the end or the Marine standing next to the casket watching over them both.

I lost my grandpa last  year. He died on February 16th, 2013.He was the most influential figure in my life (along with the unsinkable Sheryl Downs) and he was also a marine. It is a bond you never shake, even if you retire from the service, and they showed up at his funeral and played TAPS for him. Even now I think of him everyday and even now writing this my heart aches because I miss him. But this is just awesome plane and simple. It's a brotherhood for life.
Normally I'll post cynical, or sarcastic or comedic things on here (along with funny and many, many more descriptives) but this garners some attention.
