“That title? It’s not misdirection. This one’s gonna hurt. Your favorite heroes and villains will fall, even as others rise up against this extinction-level event. The Predator King is here. The Yautja are armed with Vibranium. And Earth is now a hunting preserve.” -Benjamin Percy via SuperHeroHype.com
That's right FOLKS, We got an announcement today for the finale of the PREDATOR CROSSOVERS and it appears to be an EVENT of epic proportions. Written by Benjamin Percy and illustrated by Marcelo Ferreira (who also illustrated Predator vs. Spider-Man.)
Personally the Predator franchise is hit or miss. The first film is still the best, and the second will always have a special place in my heart. The Alien Vs. Predators also have a place in my heart due to the events surrounding seeing them and not the films themselves (Requiem was TRASH). You got your Toper Grace one (I think he was in it) with Adrian Brody and Danny Trejo, then one two maybe three more? PREY was pretty interesting though IDGAF what anybody says. EITHER WAY THOUGH, that's all moot because the Comics has, generally speaking at least, always delivered. Pretty sure Dark Horse had them back in the day and I'm too lazy at the moment to do that research even though google is just another tab away. ANYWAYS....
Herrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeee Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Goooooo!
What I know so far:
-The first issue is scheduled for release on August 13.
-Sounds like the story is going to center around a Predator king (Don't know if it's 'A' Preadtor king or 'THE' Preditor King if there is such a thing) who has been emboldened by a new arsenal of Vibranium weapons.
-This, coupled with a surprisingly unlikely human ally (which I have been unable to find out who) leads to a straight up invasion of Earth.
-Both heroes AND villains will battle against The Yautja and "not all of them will make it out alive"
One sought Wolverine as the ultimate challenge. A hunting party invaded Wakanda only to be turned away by Black Panther and his people. An outcast contended with Spider-Man in the urban jungles of New York City. Now, a Yautja king and his court will make Earth into their own happy hunting ground in Predator Kills the Marvel Universe. Predator Kills the Marvel Universe will be the finale of a line of crossovers between the two franchises. -source via SuperHeroHype.com
“Over the past few years, I’ve been having the time of my life writing the Predator Vs. series,” he said. “The Yautja have hunted Wolverine across the decades. They’ve battled Black Panther and plundered Wakanda of its Vibranium. And they’ve faced off against Spider-Man and Kraven during a blackout heatwave in New York. These stories have been patiently building toward something epic. Their interconnectedness will be revealed in this explosive, blood-drenched, five-part story.” -source via SuperHeroHype.com
