I enjoyed this hike. Looking back it had a deceiving beginning, too much decent and we forgot that there was going to come a point were that is paid back on the return journey.
The hike to the falls itself wasn’t relatively straightforward, nothing too crazy. No dang rock sprawls this time or chance of injury and death. We even ran into these two friends who were doing day hikes throughout the week and live locally.
If you
Make the hike and have the chance to get the water…. Why not drink in the essence of the falls! That’s what I decided at least, so I fillllllled up!
Nature youre are a cruel mistress….. well played with your cruel humor oh well played indeed.
I still have no idea what the heck this is…. There’s a sewer clean out and I hear machinery behind it so I hope I didn’t scoop that poop water…… yikes
We took a wrong turn and ended up heading toward the lodge for the park (which is closed and currently under construction) unknowingly bumping into a lookout path beforehand. This right here was the sweat treat of the day. This little outlook was worth the detour, worth stumble off the path, and worth the beating we took on the second half of the trail. Man it was gorgeous. We got sat there for a solid 20mins and drank it in.
We did it. 3:20pm. Now it’s onward and outwards. Get back, grab snack or nap, and get primed for a well deserved dinner. All in all these Hines weren’t difficult on their own but coupled together…..it’s been a tough day on my body and I can admit that. I’m excited for a campfire and some s’mores. For sure
