Day 5: Hazel Falls (Probably the best trail)

 

Day 5 (May 5th)

Destination: Hazel Falls  

Length: 5.2 miles

Elevation:  950ft

Time: 11:20- 2:30

Day 4: Layover day

 

This will be short and sweet, not much to report on here……

We slept in, recovered, had an amazing breakfast, waited for the weather to break (and it did twice) and eventually just rallied up and played some board games. I really can’t talk about the rest haha

Day 3: Afternoon Monsoons

 Well…..currently battling some fun weather lol. It’s uh……yeah. It’s a spectrum I’ll tell ya

That’s right. I thought I’d have it easy after the hike….. Yanno, rush through the second half to beat the rain and then go home and hunker down. But NOOOOOOOO, the weather has to go all whacked out on goofballs. Shenanigans I tell you, SHENANIGANS

The CAVE CEMETARY fiasco

 Oh boy…. Get ready for this one.

The Rose River trail has been my most anticipated trail since we started planning this trip in November, it’s always seemed the most evenhanded of our selections and as far as sightseeing goes it’s got a little bit of everything for everyone. So since about a month ago I have been even more eager to hike it, I was putzing around the inter webs and found out there was a cave cemetery there! Sooo cool. How friggin awesome. I was super jazzed for it, I mean how can you not be? Well here’s my tale of that…..

Day 3: Warm Boyz take Rose River

What a great time today. I have been looking forward to this trail most of all, and since day 1 have been pitching it hard and advocating on its behalf fiercely. It looked like it had a little of everything and now that we’ve gone and came back I can confirm that that is true. The spot we chose for lunch was an added bonus as well, with the only drawback being cutting things short in an attempt to beat the rain (and right so because….. yeah…. You’ll hear about THAT)

Destination: Rose River falls Loop

Length: 4.1 miles 

Elevation gain: 830ft

Time: 11:15- 2:11

Day 2: Hike 2- Lewis Falls trail loop

Destination: Lewis Falls (waterfall)

Distance: 3.3miles

Elevation gain: 841ft

Time: 12:40- 3:20

Day 2: Hike 1- Bearfence scramble (my favorite trail)

Destination: Bearfence Trail loop

Distance: 1.2 miles

Elevation Gain: 990ft

Time: 10:45- 12:15

 As mentioned….. if you read my previous post….. Today we got a double outing planned. With potentially imminent rain we wanna knockout one of our more challenging treks because it is strongly advised against to do with wet rocks due to slippage….. (and sine I’m writing this afterthefact I’ll tell you this, it is definitely certain to do in unsafe conditions)

Made it! Time to set-up

At about 3:20 we rolled up into this beezy, with hope in our hearts and adventure in our minds.

The speed  limit was a whopping 35mph so we definitely got some time to soak in the sights, plenty of mountainscape on alternating sides as we make our way to the middle of the park. CONTINUE READING to see more of our home away from home.

Always count on movie toys to spoil: Our first look at GALACTUS (ty LEGO)

 

I can't remember EXACTLY when it started but I think it was IRONMAN 3 with LEGO. If memory serves me correctly, which to be honest probably isn't the case, the twist with the MANDARIN was loosely spoiled with a toy set or maybe it was with Killian being the Mandarin. IRRELEVANT. I definitely know that I can recall endgame and beyond though. This is all funneling to a point here, that if there is secrecy is a marvel film you can always rely on the toys to spoil it. TONY'S Stark GAUNLET, The timesuits for example found themselves on shelves before the premieres....But you can't blame marketing for that because they have one job....MAKE AND MARKET products and tie-ins that SELL.

HUZZAH. Just realized that my post Yesterday about my upcoming backpacking trip was my 500th Article. WOW! One week until my annual commune with Nature

How exciting! It’s almost that time again to join me and THE WARM BOYZ (with a ‘z’) on our annual excursion into the bosoms of Mother Nature! This year we visit Shenandoah national park in VIRGINIA. :-)

Update!: Just coated my gear in permethrin today. All packed up for the most part. With my new ultralight additions……pre water weight is about 20lbs. Nice.

Fingers crossed its just 'DRIVE' in space-- Ryan Gosling joins the Star Wars universe

Disney/Lucasfilm announced yesterday the official details for Shawn Levy's Star Wars movie, which stars MY BOY.....Ryan Gosling. so now we got:

 The title, release date, and plot. Which im suuuuuuuuuuper jazzed about. If you know anything about me you know I got a man crush on Ryan Gosling and objectively also think he is a very talented actor. Lost River is a great modern day fairy tale but that has nothing to do with this. This is Star Wars

Production on the highly anticipated project is expected to begin sometime this fall. Now officially titled Star Wars: Starfighter, the movie is described as a stand-alone adventure that will take place five years after the events of 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. According to the studio, “it is an entirely new adventure featuring all-new characters set in a period of time that has not been explored on screen yet.”-source: Superherohype.com

 Well hello there ladies and gents, another day.....another controversy from BUTTHURT purists.

In a turn of events not at all shocking a new Fantastic Four trailer dropped and something we already new was revealed-- SILVER SURFER IS FEMALE!!!!! the horror (for some). Not surprising at all since Julia Garner was announced, what, over a year ago, but some people still had to find a reason to be mad about it. Nevermind that FF: First steps takes place in an alternate reality and nevermind that Garner is playing the Shalla-Bal, spouse of the Original Surfer (In the OG run Norrin Radd became the herald of galactus to save his world and protect his family) I'm sure none of that has anything to do with it. None of this has really anything to do with where I'm headed towards though..... Because my REAKTS video is just me being triggered by some slimey j@<k@s$ who is seemingly obsessed with the fact that new movies are WOKE because they don't have big boobs in them anymore.... seriously.... that's it.  So this has been in the works for a while and I have a sneaking suspicion that they're gonna go the sonic route here and blow our socks off with quality.....on the surface having Liam Neeson reboot TNG and be Frank's son sounds like a LEAP buuuuuuut honestly I'm here for it.
