This is one of those times where I've wanted to talk about this for a while and I'm not going to script it, I have things I want to say and we are going RAW to say them. But uh....yeah... THUNDERBOLTS*, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I resonated with a lot of the themes and conflict in it, not literally of course but emotionally. But like with most things the internet had to be disingenuous about it and I can't leave that alone... YES people are able to have their opinions and yes people are allowed to disagree but why are things just represented in BAD FAITH these days? Intentionally distorted and misrepresented for the sole purpose of haters hating and clout and clickbait. I just don't agree with that kind of approach to content. BE GENUINE it isn't hard. This one's for my Daughter: KPOP Demon Hunters is coming to theaters

 

The universe is stalking me I swear......never even heard of this movie before until this weekend when my daughter and her BFF were having a playdate and her family put it on. My daughter was instantly whisked away to the land of enchantment and was 100% completely enveloped the whole time. TBF it wasn't even a half bad kid flick AND it's blatantly obvious several of the people from the team who did the animated SPIDERVERSE movies worked on it so I was dialed in (I am very much a fan of that style of animation, so shiny). This all had a point originally, OH yeah-- So up until Sunday I had NEVER heard of this movie and then we watch it.....then last night we rewatch it (as people with kids tend to do haha) and now.....today..... there's this article on SUPERHEROHYPE, why a lovely lovely coincidence. It's typically not my style to post about stuff outside my sphere of interest but what can I say... I love my babygirl and this article is dedicated to anybody who would want take their kid to see it on the bigscreen

UNDERSTANDING INCEPTION: a haphazarrd MINI-essay

I both love and hate it when my mind becomes fixated on something......it can be a gift and a curse, case in point: What you're about to read. I love the movie inception and yesterday I rewatched it for the first time in a long time. Now one of my favorite things about a Chris Nolan flick is that on each subsequent viewing you tend to notice more and more inane detail to a perfectly crafted narrative and this movie is NO EXCEPTION. So years ago I came across an infographic that explained all the layers to the dreams in a coherent and easy to follow visual, so naturally I headed to google to do some sleuthing and FOUND IT! after much thinking and a little editorial help from AI (I can admit my grammar and structure are lacking at times......you've read the stuff I write, it's no secret) I came up with what turned out to be a little essay on the topic, CONTINUE READING to know more.

How exciting! DAkkPOSTING today :-)

 I am proud to share with you my FIRST solar project. By any metric it is absolutely nothing to write home about but to ME in just the beginning, the ground floor. MY favorite thing about doing silly projects is imagining, executing, failing, learning and growing with the expanding and refining on the concepts at hand. You always learn a lot of the journey and failure is a part of the eventual success. ALL THAT TO SAY THIS-- I completed my first solar project and the scalability potential is uncapped! Today it is just some lighting for my kids playhouse, tomorrow lighting for MY HOUSE. 

But nonetheless I have accomplished a small feat. A like with all small steps they eventually add up to a big journey. The ENDGAME on my journey is discovery is partial or total electrical grid self-sustainability. So who knows....in the future I may refer back to this day as I'm saving money and helping the environment.

Dakk Rekommends: PALworld

 In case you haven't been following my stream (which to be fair, unless you're one of like 20 people I'd say this applies to you by default) 

I've been going pretty HARD on PALWORLD now for about 2 weeks and I gotta say... I LOVE IT. It's fun and refreshing and exciting. A nice mixture of survival meets pokemon. I had a few minutes this morning and decided to give it a little review, no big deal, but that's all. I also noticed that MORTAL KOMBAT II has a trailer out so be prepared for a REAKT video on that probably later today. Have a good one! 

The grind is defintiely real as with any survival game. But overall for $30 I'd Absolutely recommend checking it out! Might even be free on GAME PASS. Here's my Review since I just decided I should probably ACTUALLY rate it:

-Fun: 10/10

-Replay Value: 8/10 *The best part is thast the game with drastically change as it moves from open beta to full release

-Game Mechanics: 9/10 - Not clunky, feels pretty streamlined, no issues other than glitches/crashes

-Story: ummmmmmmm........... There really ISN'T one yet, I'm too lazy to read and find all the diary entries so I'd say just watch a youtbue video on it if you're curious

OVERALL: I'd say a solid 8.5/10 with no where left to go but up!

That's right folks! Ryan Gosling back with more cinema gold for your daily life and double bonus-- This one is a SCI-FI flick. When I was watching this trailer I got major Interstellar/ The Martian vibes and upon doing research, turns out this is based off a book and the author of that book.....wrote THE MARTIAN (so the vibe check tracks). Apparently this trailer spoils a MAJOR twist of the book so be warned if that's a dealbreaker. I already saw it and found out after the fact but honestly it makes sense because even in my reakt video I said watch THIS be the majority of the movie and the astronaut lost in space trying to save the world is like the first 30mins. ANYWHO, got super excited when I randomly scrolled across this, got double excited when I watched the trailer and now I'm uber excited for this movie next year (why does it have to be so far away)

Feeling Nostalgic, had an itch....decided to Edit old backpacking footage

 

I don't know what it is lately and I'm not complaining, maybe it's all of the sorting of chaos I've been doing in my head or maybe it's just a sudden strike inspiration. DON'T KNOW, DON'T CARE. I just know that I've been bitten by the creative bug again lately (which feels nice if I'm being honest) and I'm going to let it take me where it needs to go. It's funny, over the last few years I've ben getting bummed about how my artistic eye is dying and how I have writer's block but with the new journey I'm on, time is allowing me to recover and reinvigorate myself. 

TLDR: I got inspired last night and started editing two videos, the first one I forgot to save and my editing software FROZE on me, so I lost that (man it was a bummer, I was 3/4 of the way doen and it wasn't half bad imo) BUT I did start on another and that carried me over to this mornign where I finished it up....so here we are... Summer is fast approaching and hear in our neck of the woods (well, more accurately, the CONCRETE JUNGLE) the changing of the seasons is marked by a few other passing things..... We are SUPER fortunate where I live to be graced by a few kind souls and because of this our little corner of the world shines a little brighter and has a little more flavor! "What Am I talking about" you may ask and if you're not from around here I have to explain: Basically from Spring to Fall we have three local celebrities that fills our city with charm. We have a Clown in a white TUXEDO who sits on street corners/intersections and plays his beautiful CELLO for hours at random (I usually see him closer to the weekend). Just wanted to riff on the new SUPERMAN trailer. I don't think the new James Gunn flick is ghoing to reinvent the wheel of cinema, I think it might be a good tentpole summer blockbuster and this last trailer just helps me double down on that position. I've been waiting a few days to record this because I didn't know what I REALLY wanted two say about it, and to be fair I still fully don't BUT I did have a hopeful and positive takeaway from the trailer (like with snow white when you see a trailer and go YIKES). I've been waiting to do this REAKT video since I heard the rumor ab out the trailer dropping. Not because I want this to do bad or fail, but due to its production history I was genuinely curious if it was going to be good, or well look good at least, and so far I'm impressed. It's got some good elements going for it and I guess it will all come down to the story and the writing. Back in the Saddle: Another Dakk Reakts to (Spoiler: it's for FALLOUT!)

 It's been almost a week tot he day since I got back from my annual pilgrimage into nature's bosoms (Aka as out trip to Shenandoah National park) and I'm back to making blog posts baybay. So we got a few awesome things coming up..... First there's THIS, the reason you're here-- Fallout just dropped a teaser/first look at season 2. Now something that's a bit of an new development is the fact I may do bakk to bakk Dakk Reakts, rumor has it tomorrow the trailer for IRON HEART on Disney+ drops so if there is..... ALSO.....as I type this I see on youtube that PEACEMAKER season 2 has a trailer as well that premiered 4 days ago (how did I miss that? Boy, what a total amateur AMIRIGHT!?)

Day 7: Bittersweet ends and the last hoorah

Trail: Pt.2 of a Custom trail (a mix of the AT & the Pocosin trail)

Length: Estimated ~2.7 miles

Elevation: 400ft

Time: 8:33- 9:32 (on the dot I want to add)

 So I write this from the backseat of our vehicle on the 10 hour journey home. Fresh off of the last hike and I gotta say, THAT WAS A TOUGHIE. We wanted to push hard and fast and we did. For the most part the elevation was good to us, but there were some stretches where it got brutal for a second. The worst part is that we had limited water, due to the location of our campsite and the custom route we took we prepared for a zero water scenario. That part was fine but there's something mentally taxing about knowing you're low on water...... Either way though we hoofed it and made it back AHEAD OF SCHEDULE.  

Day 6: Packing out to a Custom Trail

 

Today we do the unconventional. Today we enter the backcountry. Today the warm boys are in search of the perfect spot to spend the night with sweet Mother Nature.

Trail: Custom (a mix of the AT & the Pocosin trail)

Length: Estimated ~5.1 miles

Elevation: 550ft

Time: 11:52-3:20

Today we say goodbye to CASA de Warm Boyz but alas....nothing lasts forever (even cold November Rain) so we broke down camp and skidaddled ASAP. 

This is George, he's a park Ranger and Eagle Scout. Dude is HARD AF, soo funny and has mad respect for nature. MY guy is 80 and still showing up early and putting in a day. I see him raking leaves, getting firewood, and just being pleasant with the campers as well as helpful to the thruhikers on the AT (This is a stopping point where people can layover, take a shower, resupply, whatever needbe)

Today was going to be a great day for me...... today is the day I planned to have my annual check-up with the universe. When we make camp.....I'm taking Psilocybin baybay :-) aquired LEGALLY in the City of Ann Arbor for the record.
