What a freaking day and it’s only 9:27! Woke up to finding out about this lovely little bit of information and I can’t say that I’m not happy about it. Honestly, I’m surprised that corporate America didn’t win, but it turns out the Japanese legal system may have slightly more integrity than our broken a** legal system. You know for a game that in and of itself was a concept stolen from like three other games. I always find it funny when Nintendo decides to litigate on Pokémon‘s behalf, due to either something created by fans or some game that has taken their idea and improved upon it. Let’s be honest Pokémon games really haven’t tried for the last 10 years to innovate or do anything super groundbreaking. Gonna have some scares and take my kiddos Trick Or Treatin' then winding the night down by watching THE CROW as god intended. But alas, before that I made sure to get some work done. Throwback Thursday: A look back on 'STRANDBEEST'

 

So.....way back in this Blog's infancy, and in my mid twenties I wrote and Article about 'STRAND BEEST' which is an inorganic life/artform powered by wind. IT IS SUPER COOL and METAL AF in my opinion. Well I was randomly surfing and thought about thaat for the first time in YEARS. Artist Theo Jansen started this project in the late 80s and it was grown and evolved over the last few decades. I remember originally finding about him randomly from a STUMBLEPUPON video I saw of one of his creations. Blew me away, the elegance of movement and the fact that it was wind powered immediately had me hooked. But yeah.... that's my pitch, decided to recycle this article because Theo is still hard at work and I would love to help tell his story to as many people as possible.

It's easy to get caught up in the rat race and its especially easy for a parent to be dismissive about their passion either due to time constraints or even simply being too exhausted to be motivated. SO in a move nobody asked for on a sequel nobody really wanted it turns out that........well.......... There's a 4th BILL AND TED on the way. um..... ok? This is like the announcement of the SECOND Simpsons movie 20 years too late (which like the first simpsons movie was 20 years too late), I mean I'm not opposed to it and I don't automatically hate it but I, uh, just.....why? Just wanted to drop an update on the home release of FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS.

  From Dawn of the Discs: "The Fantastic Four: First Steps will arrive on 4K and Blu-ray on October 28, 2025. No official word from Disney confirmed the report.

OTHER sources claim it will be on Disney+ in November with some eye the 5th or the 19th as a suspected date (no idea why but I am just reporting what I've found)

This one's for my Daughter: KPOP Demon Hunters is coming to theaters

 

The universe is stalking me I swear......never even heard of this movie before until this weekend when my daughter and her BFF were having a playdate and her family put it on. My daughter was instantly whisked away to the land of enchantment and was 100% completely enveloped the whole time. TBF it wasn't even a half bad kid flick AND it's blatantly obvious several of the people from the team who did the animated SPIDERVERSE movies worked on it so I was dialed in (I am very much a fan of that style of animation, so shiny). This all had a point originally, OH yeah-- So up until Sunday I had NEVER heard of this movie and then we watch it.....then last night we rewatch it (as people with kids tend to do haha) and now.....today..... there's this article on SUPERHEROHYPE, why a lovely lovely coincidence. It's typically not my style to post about stuff outside my sphere of interest but what can I say... I both love and hate it when my mind becomes fixated on something......it can be a gift and a curse, case in point: What you're about to read. I love the movie inception and yesterday I rewatched it for the first time in a long time. Now one of my favorite things about a Chris Nolan flick is that on each subsequent viewing you tend to notice more and more inane detail to a perfectly crafted narrative and this movie is NO EXCEPTION. So years ago I came across an infographic that explained all the layers to the dreams in a coherent and easy to follow visual, so naturally I headed to google to do some sleuthing and FOUND IT! after much thinking and a little editorial help from AI (I can admit my grammar and structure are lacking at times......you've read the stuff I write, it's no secret) I came up with what turned out to be a little essay on the topic, CONTINUE READING to know more.

How exciting! DAkkPOSTING today :-)

 I am proud to share with you my FIRST solar project. By any metric it is absolutely nothing to write home about but to ME in just the beginning, the ground floor. MY favorite thing about doing silly projects is imagining, executing, failing, learning and growing with the expanding and refining on the concepts at hand. You always learn a lot of the journey and failure is a part of the eventual success. ALL THAT TO SAY THIS-- I completed my first solar project and the scalability potential is uncapped! Today it is just some lighting for my kids playhouse, tomorrow lighting for MY HOUSE. 

But nonetheless I have accomplished a small feat. A like with all small steps they eventually add up to a big journey. The ENDGAME on my journey is discovery is partial or total electrical grid self-sustainability. So who knows....in the future I may refer back to this day as I'm saving money and helping the environment.

Dakk Rekommends: PALworld

 In case you haven't been following my stream (which to be fair, unless you're one of like 20 people I'd say this applies to you by default) 

I've been going pretty HARD on PALWORLD now for about 2 weeks and I gotta say... I LOVE IT. It's fun and refreshing and exciting. A nice mixture of survival meets pokemon. I had a few minutes this morning and decided to give it a little review, no big deal, but that's all. I also noticed that MORTAL KOMBAT II has a trailer out so be prepared for a REAKT video on that probably later today. Have a good one! 

The grind is defintiely real as with any survival game. But overall for $30 I'd Absolutely recommend checking it out! Might even be free on GAME PASS. Here's my Review since I just decided I should probably ACTUALLY rate it:

-Fun: 10/10

-Replay Value: 8/10 *The best part is thast the game with drastically change as it moves from open beta to full release

-Game Mechanics: 9/10 - Not clunky, feels pretty streamlined, no issues other than glitches/crashes

-Story: ummmmmmmm........... There really ISN'T one yet, I'm too lazy to read and find all the diary entries so I'd say just watch a youtbue video on it if you're curious

OVERALL: I'd say a solid 8.5/10 with no where left to go but up!
