So this is Pt. 2 of my Weekend Round-up of things I consider Relevant. Enjoy!
1.GEEKOLOGIE ARTICLE!
A Truck Carrying Gas Tanks Crashes, They All Explode
HOLY SHIT!
More shit...press continue
(I do this so my articles don't jam your RAM)
2. Jimmy Carter Relevant Again:
"Snowden did US a favour"
Jimmy Carter is speaking out about Edward Snowden (wait he's still alive...JK he's a really humane fellow I <3 his compassion) surprising the press he came out by saying that Edward Snowden's NSA leak was "beneficial" for the country. Former President Carter believes that the 'spying scandal' is undermining democracy around
the world. People are starting to become increasingly suspicious of US
internet platforms, such as Google and Facebook.
(but let's be honest, they're still going to use them. Instead of doing something about it)
"the invasion of human rights and American privacy has gone too far". He added that although Snowden violated US law, he may have ultimately done good for the country.
Check our the full article from TechEye's website (here)
3. Rednecks Strike back: A similar group of rebels took down an intergalactic NWO so why can't we?
anddddddd here's yet another geekologie article from earlier this week. There's a town called Deer Trail, in Colorado, and it is considering selling drone hunting permits
and offering $100 bounties for bringing in pieces of downed/destroyed government
drones. I wonder who will try to cash in on Johnny 5? (does anybody get that reference anymore???)
Picture taken from Geekologie article, along with the idea to post this
story. Read here because they're far better at making this comical
4. '5D' memory crystal could outlive the human race
(Then again, so could a floppy disk)
A computer memory crystal developed by British boffins
could end up outliving the entire human race and survive for a million
years with no information loss.
disclaimer: Don't get too excited because chances are if this WAS to happen (and it even states in the article) chances are you WONT be able to afford it. Sorry...broke ass
Anywho: read here
(thanks TechEye.net)
5.Stanley Kubrick Conspiracy Video
(ooooooo spooooky)
in 2008 my Philosophy Teacher gave me a very serious Film study project. He advised that I look at and examine (from every angle, perspective and job) 5 great film Directors.
1 was Akira Kurosawa. 1 was Alfred Hitchcock. 1. was Stanley Kubrick 1. was Ingmar Bergman
and the 5th was Michelangelo D'Antonio.
I smashed through much of Kurosawa with pleasure.
I sliced through a lot of Hitchcock, because he is just great with suspense and
psychology.
I danced with Stanley Kubrick, although very briefly. Still a little behind on him.
And the other two I'm saving for last because A) I'm least excited for them and B) They will probably offer the more profound elements of a film, Bergman is simply amazing from
the films I've watched in my studies classes.
But I'm getting sidetracked:
Allegedly the story goes that the U.S. couldn't actually make it to the moon and didn't want Russia to make it there first so they hired our boy.. Mr. 2001 himself to help film a faux landing. (Although I'm pretty sure we've dropped equipment on the moon, like the laser shit from Big Bang Theory so we've at least been there at SOME point) I wouldn't be surprised because if you've seen 2001: A space Odyssey or James Bond's Moonraker than you know what Hollywood is capable of when simulating space.
Either way it is thought provoking. Watch the video and decide for yourself.
and Lastly..... this
