SchWHAT!? you say... and I say YES! (well possibly, I don't KNOW per se but I can damn sure speculate) I'm calling it: Wolverine is going to play cable in the upcoming X-men flick.
So let me preface this with an introduction paragraph, laying the scene, having seemingly nothing to do with the theory at hand but still...
So I saw 'The Wolverine' this morning with my buddy Jeff and although this article won't be about that movie I will say that I enjoyed the movie for what it was and without giving away ANY spoilers I will say that, if my theory holds true, all of my gripes with the movie and the X-men franchise in general (particularly and primarily Wolverine: Origins) will be rewritten and fixed with Bryan Singer's re-entry into a saga he help create and launch.
I would also like to add that this theory came spur of the moment, in a conversation with my bestfriend Nathan, and will likely contain some holes in which I'll have to revisit in the future to readjust my foundations. so if you see any inconsistencies please point them out but don't be douchy or nit-picky about it.
so without further ado here we go (read on to find out):

EVERYBODY DIES IN LIFE: to live in life the key is to die well....like this man
Here's the best example or turning tragedy to purpose. A way to reconcile the dead with the living. And a testament to boundless feats love will help you achieve. I have no way of researching to find out if this picture is real (in reality I do....the internet, but I don't know 'how' to go about doing that) but I have faith that selfless acts by selfless people do exist, that I've seen with my own eyes.
Blog soup for the soul: Buncha random articles to preach about
Today is wednesday, which normally is my creativity day (although lately with Borderlands 2 and no band anymore the word 'creativity' is in review... More like a 'guess-I'm-hanging-with-bestfriends-occupying-time-mostly-playing-video-games day) where I like to spend at least a few hours, you know, creating. Right now I'm currently headlining and directing a sketch-comedy project called "Polite Aschole" and it is craaaaaaaawling along...slowly, at a stand-still for the moment due to a lack of monetary compensation.... AKA 'I can't afford to pay anybody right now, so actual work is priority numero uno'
ANYWHO, today I decided to take a break. I needed one, from best-friends and creativity (and all the bad vibes my life generates when I'm not doing something that I love) so now that I've completed a free Algebra lesson from udacity.com (one of those free online course websites I was telling ya aboot)
I'm going to post some cool gossop, news, articles, or whatever you call them (little bits of 'info' none the less) and I'm going to do it in rapid-fire succession (that way it saves you from clicking like 5 articles individually)
Here's a brief summary if you'd like to continue reading:
1. the FBI rescued over 100 teens over the weekend in sex-trafficking raids
2. The hacker who planned to showcase how to remotely kill pacemaker patient dies (strange?) before his well intentioned conference took place
3. Scientists may have discovered the cause of Bee-mageddon, and it's worse than you thought
4. 10 myths about introverts (not really an article per se, but enjoyable nonetheless)
5. Sacred Geometry: Obtain sqaure roots from intersecting circles
so...... Read on, if you'd like to read on.

Pat McClure will be an ODST loooong before expected: C-Thru Smoke Driving Helmet ... HUD gear, the beginning (and actual good pun)
In other news that pretty much just kicks ass-all-around, A new kind of Helmet has been
created for firefighters.. the C-thru (I'll give you 1 fire to guess what it does)
"C-Thru is a helmet that is designed to help firefighter walk through dense smoke during smoke diving search and rescue missions. Time constrains of six minutes per mission, makes it imperative that the gear is optimal. C-thru gives them the edge thanks to the wire-frame vision of the interior geometry, surrounding the smoke diver. Using technological enhancements, the helmet provides a visual map of the interiors so that it becomes easy for the firefighter to locate the victims."

Who Would've guessed: NASA Van Allen Probes Discover Particle Accelerator in Earth's Radiation Belts
(hurray I found my own article artwork..VIA google! At least it isn't borrowed from source article)
who woulda thought? seriously? Just for a second. Who would've thought to look in ORBIT!
pssshhh figures... Scientists love wasting money. Just kidding! but here's the scoop:
NASA's Van Allen Probes (hehe..probes) have made a remarkable, exciting and very unusual discovery-- They've found a natural particle accelerator right in the heart of the Earth's radiation belts, and it is speeding up tiny particles to more than 99 percent the speed of light. (FYI: anything with MASS cannot achieve 100% the speed of light, it is NOT possible...yet)

Update!: Science is coming your wayyy and T-rex sex too (gotcha with the title)
So I came across a new science journal today (technically last night, but that was 2am so double technically it WAS today....nvr mnd), AWEscience, and it is AMAZING! I found out about it last night while stumbling and reading and just perusing the internet when I found that page on liquid oxygen. The rest is short-term history! But I am getting sidetracked (which is fun also) so here's the point: I want to present a BUNCH of articles from their website. SO HERE WE GO!
Article #1 starts us off: One solar tower to rule them all!
more info on the tower here (orig article)
Article #1 starts us off: One solar tower to rule them all!
Twice the height of the Empire State – EnviroMission plans massive solar tower for Arizona
Hell yeah, solar energy, now you've just gotta construct Sauron's solar tower and you can begin
to rule 3rd-rock-from-the-sun-Earth (calling it 'middle Earth' was just wayy too impractical) and
destroy the ELVES and realm of free men. Just kidding. But seriously...
I think it's a wonderful idea, and if it helps cut energy costs who would oppose it
(energy conglomerates...duh)
this sucker will sit at 2625 ft tall and is projected to produce 200-megawatts of power generation and will reliably feed the grid with enough power for 150,000 US homes. Here's the best part: Once it’s built, it can be expected to more or less sit there producing clean, renewable power with virtually no maintenance until it's over 80 years old! (boomshakalaka)
Here's a rundown of how it works (quoted from article)
"Enviromission’s solar tower is a simple idea taken to gigantic proportions. The sun beats down on a large covered greenhouse area at the bottom, warming the air underneath it. Hot air wants to rise, so there’s a central point for it to rush towards and escape; the tower in the middle. And there’s a bunch of turbines at the base of the tower that generate electricity from that natural updraft."

Copied this from Facebook: I wish milk was water, then I'd be alright
I DID NOT KNOW THIS!
Water or Coke? We all know that water is important but I’ve never seen it written like this before. and REMEMBER if you "SHARE" this post it will SAVE on your personal page so you can refer to it later.
WATER
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 30%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
And now for the properties of COKE
1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7.. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
IMPORTANT INFO
1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or coke?

I came across this meme on facebook and instead of just reposting this (because a meme says something, it isn't always necessarily true) I did my research and it turns out that this place is real. It's in Redbank New Jersey and it is a place that inspires community and encourages togetherness over something as "simple as breaking bread." If you can't afford to pay then you work off your meal so either way you;re not free loading and it empowers you to work for what you want.

F!$k Yeah Science!: Injectable oxygen is here
Now I've known that they've had this in development for quite sometime and I've done a decent job following it at least the last year or two. HOWEVER, I think it's finally here because researchers at Boston's Children Hospital have created a liquid that can do it. Originally I read an article on AWEscience.com but it came from an article posted on realitypod.com and personally I like the latter better than the former (it provides the follow video) continue reading to watch it.

Random thought: Happy Birthday Stanley Kubrick!
Just found out about the Stanley Kubrick Documentary "Stanley Kubrick's Boxes" because of an article I read. Happy Birthday Stanley you dead motherf$&#er. That may have sounded cold but not really, I admire this guy but he IS dead sorry to burst that bubble. If he wasn't though he'd be 85 and also making bombass movies and saving hollywood's asses. Also maybe faking some MARS landings...who knows!
ANYWAYS 2 THINGS!
and
2. Don't forget to watch Stanley Kubrick's Boxes (for me)
(posted so I won't forget to watch it)
I'm not going to Delete FaceBook but this is worth a watch none the less
Chances are that we don't fall into the 'I abuse facebook to a point it's a codependency' but this video is still eye opening and worth a watch nonetheless. It points out how social media, in an effort to bring us closer, has actually pulled us far apart. Sometimes it is easy to forget about the simple, minute or trivial things is relationships that make living worth living and we need a reminder. Today was a day for me and I want to share these two videos (and a bonus third funny Video) in case somebody else is having that day too and needs this:

It's astounding how much professional athletes make, it really is. Did you know that in some South African cities the teachers are praised like their athletes. That's awesome. I mean if you think about it teachers (even the 1% learn to be greedy fucks from somebody. That knowledge is passed down, unless they've figured out how to load it matrix style) are one of, if not the most, essential tool in the furthering advancements of EVERYTHING in the world. Granted some of them may not see it that way, but we all learned to speak and talk and write and read and be smart ass little shits from somebody else. So teaching is far more important than you could ever grasp (well maybe you can I'm not going to assume, presume, or whatever..to know what you know...)

Pretty Awesome (and so last week): Largest Glacier 'Calving' caught on film
"It was captured by James Balog as part of his documentary 'Chasing Ice', in an attempt to raise awareness about 'climate change'. "
Now I'm going to throw my opinion here and soap box.... Climate Change is that the new word for bullshit nowadays? I'm sure the Earth is going through a climate change...and it will continue to, based on whether we want it to or not. Because you see change is the only constant in the universe. EVERYTHING is in a state of change: You, me, the mona Lisa, it's all falling apart. Atom by Atom entropy is swallowing us whole and there is nothing we can do about that change but embrace it and be the energy that we're composed of.
Either way.. Cool video, whether you interpret it one way or another, you can still enjoy it because mother nature decided to let us capture a slice of beauty.

Freaky Friday: Is Global warming a paradigm opinion, a sensational news story or a true and potential threat? You decide.....
It's Friday night, I just got off work and I'm all showered. I just picked up a bag of weed and had a nice bit of sirloin steak from Bd's Mongolian Grill of Canton, so what do I do? I sit down... I sit down and begin to catch up on world 'news' information and I came across a geekologie article (oh boy, what a surprise) about a controversial topic: The Polar Ice Caps.
Now I'm not going to spend time spelling out my opinion and soap boxing (although this is my blog and I can and I SHOULD), I will remain objective in a sense. The aforementioned article about the polar ice caps is here and the article that it compiled it's resources from is here(huffingtonpost's website). But I'm going to continue: The article is about a small lake forming in the polar Ice caps and they're screaming Global Warming. Again I'm no expert here. I've read what little I've cared to read, I've watch two documenatires both for and against Global Warming and I've listened to many a-speeches, 'findings', 'facts', and opinions as I can but again I'm no expert. I also believe that even the scientific community is split on the official stance for Global Warming BUT..... that's not what this is about. This is about presenting two stories and also exposing the dangers of biased, sensationalist and irresponsible journalism.
Now the geekologie article says this (and it's quoted from the huffingtonpost article so I just wanted to clarify that for plagarism purposes. It is intended to show their position on the subject matter)

A Dolphin Tale
As We all know (and as I say time and time again) I fucking LVOE science. I fucking love 'I fucking Love Science's facebook page. Forthemost part everything they post I agree with (which in science is amazing because all scientists continue the debate over whose theories are more right LOL) but I especially like this one.
First off: Soap-boxin time.... I think Dolphins are such a humbling, respectful, insightful, intuitive and majestic person. That's right, I said person.. Just like stated in the above picture I don't necessarily think

Sentinels invade comic con!
The San Diego Comic-Con has been in full (and when I say full I mean 'FULL') Swing alllll weekend long with soooo many tid-bits a surprises. All of Marvel Phase 2 (Captain America: The Winder Soldier, Thor: The Dark World, and Guardians of the galaxy we're all discussed and FAQ'd and footage was shown.
Now at this time (usually happens this way, shit I didn't get the AntMan footage til forever after comic-con) there isn't much in terms of movie footage but interviews GALORE are up at SuperHeroHype's coverage of the SDCC.
For me, right now the coolest things unveiled are: A) The picture of the Sentinels with the Trask logo in the BG and the announcement of the title for the next Avengers movie- "Avengers: The age of Ultron!"

WEll that's just Bull$h!t: NSA officials testify to angry House panel that agency can perform 'three-hop queries' through Americans' data and records
I just read this article and it...well. it's just bullshit and a half that shit like this keeps happening and then we find out it is worse than previously thought and then worse again.
NSA warned to rein in surveillance as agency reveals even greater scope
was the name of the article published on the guardian's website. (I'm beginning to enjoy their coverage of a myriad of things, while still keeping a slight amount of skepticism) It details the events of the second major congressional hearing for the NSA regarding the shady dealings it's had it's hands in lately (GO Edward Snowden! Get nominated for that nobel peace prize) and frankly things were revealed that go deeper than the bullshit we found out about last month.
Critical Consensus: While I don't want to speak for Terry Gilliam, I'd like to think that we share a common view on hollywood and how people only want happy endings
I love Terry Gilliam (and I STILL need to see BRAZIL..FUCK! Jeff Bloomer and Trystam Muprhy-Fahlgren would be sooooo disappointed in me) and his movies. I love his devotion to his craft and I admire his never-say-die attitude. Realistically I need to get mine back so I can be unstoppable in the film industry, but I digress.... Mr. Gilliam released an interview for TCM (Turner Classic Movies) talking about a few biffs he has with Hollywood. Mainly it's just that we as an audience have gotten very used to having stories that wrap up nicely and don't leave room for interpretation or thought.
I agree with him, and although he doesn't blame the audience I partially do. Although we can't choose the crap dangled in front of us we can choose to bit or not and more times than not we bite anyways... pssh who needs standards. He makes a very good point though when using schindler's list. An although the title to the video is very misleading this isn't the focus of his interview, he just expresses how differently he would have approached the story.

Did Andromeda crash into the Milky Way 10 billion years ago?
"For many years scientists have believed that our Galaxy, the Milky Way, is set to crash into its larger neighbour, the Andromeda Galaxy, in about 3 billion years’ time and that this will be the first time such a collision has taken place. But now a European team of astronomers led by Hongsheng Zhao of the University of St Andrews propose a very different idea; that the two star systems collided once before, some 10 billion years ago and that our understanding of gravity is fundamentally wrong."

In my last article I made a reference to the H-1B Genius Visa and I had to find this video in order to remember what that genius visa was called. Either way he pretty much slams the US' scientific and educational foundations (and rightfully so, because our society shuns intelligence)
And........... a few more Michao Kaku videos for the soul!
DAMN YOU GEEKOLOGIE, YOU BEAT ME TO THIS POST: US Government Recognizes League of Legends' LSC as Sport
(I chose Fiora's picture for the article because she's MY champion, for the most part.....)
I read about this earlier this weekend, and was going to make a post about it, but GEEKOLOGIE beat me too it (kudos!). I had half an article typed up and everything about this nifty turn of events. In a decision that is guaranteed to bring in more skilled and educated people to this country (our scientists already import their intelligence with the H1-B Genius Visa. ) the US gov't has declared LoL (league of Legends) a legit sport you can get a VISA here, shooot some of the pros already do it.
Read IGN and GEEKOLOGIE's articles on this information because frankly, their better than mine would have been:
IGN article
GEEKOLOGIE article
sidenote: It's nice how E-sports are on the rise with both exposure and acceptance.

Fuck you Cancer!: Scientists have created an antibody to F&<$ up all forms of cancer (Russel Crowe will sit this fight out)

http://www.strandbeest.com/index.php
I'm at a loss for words. This is Theo Jansen's Strand Beest, and inorganic, art/life-form. It's science fiction, engineering, nature and art all rolled into one beautiful non-sentient life-form. IT really IS amazing. just watch the video at the very least. At the very most visit the website and read EVERY sub-page like I did, it is fascinating (at least to me it i). I find it very creative and inspiring to try and create non essential life. Shoot....made scientists probably create life everyday, but this is Leonardo Da Vinci par-level art. It rolls so many skills into one and I can definitely say that A. I appreciate it for what it is and isn't and
B. I'm inspired and invigorated by it's weird wonderfulness.
website here
nothing special just wanted to post this
I was just going a google image search for Captain America 2 photos and came across this...it melted my heart (which is a pretty big deal if you know me....that shit is 0 degrees kelvin)
Way to go Florida, first Jeb Bush now this: Florida accidently banns computers to combat gambling
In a shockingly unsurprising turn of events.... Florida inadvertently may have banned computers.
If they let the law stand, then it will mean every computer, smartphone, smart TV, and video game console will have to be shipped out of state just in case it could be used for gambling. Well I guess that's one way for old people to ensure nobody steps on their damn lawn, or in their damn state. Shit if this goes into effect they could film a whole slew of Road Warrior-esque films out of the barren wastelands of Disneyland alone. Nah scratch that, Disneyland would be home to a badass horror movie.
I've got a better idea, if gambling if your problem and you already can't get that under control come to my house and give me your money, i'll gladly take it and we can have more fun than at the casino (well maybe) and if that doesn't work and you blame your gambling on the internet then just cancel your internet. Why the fuck band it statewide in the first place? dumbasses.
Full scoop here. (Via techeye.com)

IF you're from Michigan then peep this: The Michigan Accent & Michiganders' Slang Words
Just came across this article: And it is soooo full of esoteric Michigan knowledge. You just can't pass this gem up (unless you don't live here or have ever lived here, than this is just jargen to you! Jargen I say). It has got everything from phrases and slang to explanations of how we use our hand to show where in MI things are. Click the picture of click here. Things like this are completely meaningless but that is especially important in knowing them. I <3 Stumbling (as continuously stated)
EXAMPLE:
EXAMPLE:
Michigan Slang/Colloquialisms
There
are some words and phrases we use in Michigan that aren't often used
elsewhere around the country. Different areas of Michigan have different
terms for tourists and for locals.
The Mitten: (proper noun, it's the name of a state for Pete's sake!)
This refers to the State of Michigan because, on a map, it's shaped like a mitten. Mittens are of extreme importance to Michiganders because it can get fairly cold here.

Consensus is in: Americans don't think Snowden is a "traitor" (big shocker there)
In a startling chain of events recent pollings and such have shown that despite all odds Edward Snowden isn't being viewed as a traitor by the American people. Hm..... shocking, maybe that's because he isn't and maybe it has something to do with the fact that people won't be so easily swayed by the media (at least on this topic)
Generic Snowden Pic for Article's sake go!:
Generic Snowden Pic for Article's sake go!:
Anyways if you're interested in reading the article here it is.
Long story short, 55% think of him as a whistleblower and 34% actually considered him a traitor. Nobody cares about the remaining 11%. (unless you're the 1% lol...political hijynx)

Tom Hanks anti-sem-might be playing Walt Disney apparently. Here's a pic
Check out Hank's Role in the upcoming "Saving Mr. Banks", this production also features Emma Thompson. (in case you cared)
Accountability....what's that (Oh wait, it's like being brought of for War Crimes in Nuremburg-esque trials)
"In the first trial of its kind ever, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald
Rumsfeld, William Haynes, Jay Bybee, and John Yoo were convicted in
Malaysia, for torture and inhumane degrading treatment of people."
Fuck yes, stick it to the empire Malaysia!sidenote: It's about time this shit started to happen... apparantly it is scheduled to continue on too. hopefully snowballing into something bigger.
I'm tired of these slick oil tyrants destroying the planet, its inhabitants, and the soul of humanity
so to read this was a relief. check it out (here's a snippet):
"As for past attempts at getting George Bush, Boyle says “I’ve tried
to get bush indicted three times in Canada with Canadian lawyers, and
then in Switzerland, where we scared Bush out of making a speech because
he feared prosecution.” Clearly, these criminals are scared, and
they are more then likely using intelligence agencies of the US to
ensure their own safety from the prosecution they deserve."
hahahahahaha
Dick Cheney even wrote in his biography about his fears at the likelihood of being prosecuted as a warm criminal. He is fearful.... that sociopathic fuck who shot a man in the face is scared, must be something pretty convincing then.

O.k. I know 'Periods' are a taboo subject if you don't have a vagina but guys let's suck-it up and be mature for this one: ALTERNATIVE MENSTRATION PROCEDURE!
Still Using Tampons Or Pads? You Should Read This
Again, if you get freaked out by this: GROW UP! chances are if you're lucky enough to have a spouse or companion that they'll have to deal with this (unless the future finds a way to....) so you will too! GET OVER IT
Sorry for the disclaimer I just don't like people can't be mature about a sensitive subject that I'm sure some women feel slightly embarrassed or insecure about already. but I came across this website through an old manager of mine. Obviously I'm not a female myself (well in case you didn't know.....if you didn't know you do....wow)so I can't experiment with this but I can say that I'm all about alternative living and I'm also all about making the environment better. So if this seems like something you'd be interested in check it out here (link also on top of article)

MEME round-up
So I love surfing the internet, like 90's kids liked watching T.V. (I was one of those too...TRL??what what!) and I especially love it when I come across priceless memes. So in the spirit of that I'm going to be doing a random segment called MEME round-up and it will showcase the 'best-in-show' of some awesome memes. In all honesty though most will be related to Star Wars or Marvel. Let's be real....
Did you know: That the main reason Batman took so long to join the Justice League was because he never got his parents to sign the permission slip..... (O.k. thats a load of crap but I had to...)
^ also prompted this:
ooohhhh Batman... never gets old

Hoffman's Potion- a nifty youtube DOC
First off I want to assert my viewpoint in this argument: I'm all for psychedelics. Not for their overuse (because that leads to very dangerous things for your mind), but their spiritual potential. I've done mushrooms (psilocybin cubensis to be exact) more than a few times and I've had nothing but profound experiences. Even the 1 bad trip I had was an eye-opening subconscious journey. But this is a cool documentary that I'd like to promote and it is about the creator of LSD Albert Hoffman
"I had to struggle to speak intelligibly. I asked my laboratory assistant, who was informed of the self-experiment, to escort me home. We went by bicycle, no automobile being available because of wartime restrictions on their use. On the way home, my condition began to assume threatening forms. Everything in my field of vision wavered and was distorted as if seen in a curved mirror. I also had the sensation of being unable to move from the spot. Nevertheless, my assistant later told me that we had traveled very rapidly. Finally, we arrived at home safe and sound, and I was just barely capable of asking my companion to summon our family doctor and request milk from the neighbors.”
AGENDA 21 U.N. doesn't have YOUR interests in mind (luckily our government has taken action to prevent he rise of this doctrine)
Not trying to scare you, just want to clue you into world events perpetrated since 1992.
IF you want to know more research this yourself and draw your own conclusions. I can see the good and bad in this but I mostly see bad as far as national autonomy works.
AGAIN IM NOT TRYING TO SCARE YOU
but the truth, as they say, is stranger than fiction
and knowledge is power
so arm yourself.
THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTION
just ask: Napoleon, the Vatican, Hitler, Stalin, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, or anybody who has ever killed for their religion.
an clip from wikipedia:
U.S. opposition[edit]
During the last decade, opposition to Agenda 21 has increased within the United States at the local, state, and federal levels.[16] The first elected official in the United States to officially demand withdrawal from the ICLEI, an organization that promulgates Agenda 21, was Carroll County Maryland Commissioner Richard Rothschild. The Republican National Committee has adopted a resolution opposing Agenda 21, and the Republican Party platform stated that "We strongly reject the U.N. Agenda 21 as erosive of American sovereignty."[17][18] Several state and local governments have considered or passed motions and legislation opposing Agenda 21.[4][19][20][21][22][23] Alabama became the first state to prohibit government participation in Agenda 21, but Arizona rejected a similar bill.[5]
Activists, some of whom have been associated with the Tea Party movement by the The New York Times and The Huffington Post, have said that Agenda 21 is a conspiracy by the United Nations to deprive individuals of property rights.[4][23]Columnists in The Atlantic have linked opposition to Agenda 21 to the property rights movement in the United States.[23][24] A poll of 1,300 United States voters by the American Planning Association found that 9% supported Agenda 21, 6% opposed it, and 85% thought they didn't have enough information to form an opinion.[23]
